We opened on February 10, 2020 and then closed our doors five weeks later. We reopened to virtual classes on March 18, and then reopened to a whole new #nottodaycovid world on May 31st.
Thank you for showing up for us. We couldn’t have done any of this without you showing up to your mat in smaller classes, and online for virtual classes, broadcasting from your living rooms, poolsides, hallways, even the narrow strip between your bed and the dresser.
When you joined us online, we got to see your video-bombing pets, kids jumping on the bed behind you and occasionally a spouse tip-toeing past the camera, trying desperately not to be on camera. We loved it all. Still do, since we’re still broadcasting virtual classes, and you’re still showing up.
When you joined us here at the studio, you wore your masks and we really got to see your eyes. That part is awesome. You stayed away from other students and us, and we stayed away from you. That part isn’t so awesome, but we prevented COVID from landing here, so we’ll take it.
We welcomed Kelly & Adrian of Pound with a Purpose to our team, and they now teach PoundFit classes two days a week here. We love their energy and coaching style, and that they bring a whole new, super-fun way to “work out” (it’s so much fun, doesn’t really feel like work at all).
We also welcomed my fellow YTT yogini Devan Cheaves to our team last year, and she now teaches Tuesday night’s Power Flow classes. She brings her passion for social justice, inclusion and collective liberation to her teaching, not just on the mat, but everywhere in life.
Laryssa Neel brought Ecstatic Dance to us.
Natalie Humesky added Yin/Restorative classes to our calendar.
Elizabeth taught a Belly Dance workshop, and has more planned for 2021. This is only a small sample of how we kept the momentum going last year, and we look forward to witnessing the rest of whatever is in store for us all, and learning from it.
We’re committed to continuing to learn how to practice and teach yoga as social justice, making our practices more accessible to all humans. We’re really glad you’re climbing this hill with us. The view’s gonna be amazing when we get there. Thank you. We love you. We love you so much we made all our classes the weekend of February 12-14 free / donation-based / pay-what-you-want, and returned to our 2020 Grand Opening pricing options for Memberships and Class Packs. See you on the mat soon.
